Who we don't work with

We accept all dogs for Dynamic Dog Assessments.

The hands-free assessment process is designed to be safe and low stress, even for dogs who are not comfortable with new people and places, and dogs with major behaviour challenges.

However, if your dog is experiencing an acute illness or a medical emergency, go directly to your veterinarian. I am not qualified to make diagnoses or recommend specific medications or treatments.

We can help with management, but not behaviour modification, for certain behaviour challenges.

If your dog is experiencing separation anxiety, aggression with a history of bites that required medical attention, significant resource guarding, or if a child is at risk in your home, it's best to work with a specialist trainer, behaviour consultant or veterinary behaviourist. Not sure if this applies to your dog? Book an Intro Call below.

If you need support while you're on the waitlist to work with a specialist, we may be able to assist with muzzle training and other interim safety measures.

Puppies aren't our specialty.

If you need help with potty or sleep training, piranha teeth, socialization, and all the other joys of puppy parenthood, another AnimalKind trainer may be a better fit.

We don't use aversive tools.

Our approach prioritizes safety and wellbeing, for dogs and people. If you rely on tools like prong, choke or shock collars to control your dog's behaviour - and you're looking for an alternative - welcome, I'm glad you're here!

If you're seeking dominance over your dog, or obedience above all else, we're likely not a good fit for one another.
